High Touch in a High Tech World

Handwriting - the only line that never disconnects

The Dilemma
In today's web-wired world, it's easier than ever to bypass people you used to rely on (broker, banker, travel agent) for goods and services. Everything from airline tickets to stocks, groceries, even a marriage partner are ready to order at your fingertips.

Not only are customers serving themselves, they're doing it from ski cabins, golf retreats and Tibetan treks. The fallout from the flexibility hi-tech provides is an increase in isolation. You may have a client's phone number, fax, pager, e-mail, even their coveted cell phone number, but you don't have them. So how will truly connect in the encroaching "faceless future"?  How will business owners motivate and encourage the laptop legions who check in via e-mail? How will you personally maintain your sphere of influence?

Even those addicted to the convenience of on-line commerce acknowledge that when it comes to major decisions, face time is essential to establish a bond, engender trust, and frankly ?size up? the other party.  One CEO compared web relationships to having access to a sumptuous banquet without benefit of taste, texture or aroma.

The Solution
There is a springboard that can catapult you across the chasm of anonymity the web creates. You can unearth crucial information about someone's work style, energy level, and yes, passions and phobias - without ever meeting him in person. Utilized by headhunters, dating services, and attorneys selecting juries, it exposes dishonesty, greed, laziness, and anger, as well as intelligence, wit, charisma, and sexual prowess. Demand for it has risen twenty fold in the last few years, driven by a cyber crowd demanding instant answers. What is this magic solution? Graphology, or handwriting analysis, and its the best kept secret in town.

Graphologists allege that whether you write with your right or left hand, your foot, or hold the pen between your teeth (think Christopher Reeve), what the writing records is impulses from the brain. Your hand is merely a conduit for your brain ? the true instigator of the writing. In fact, graphologists often call it brain writing, and claim studies confirm the chance of your writing matching anyone else?s is one in 68 trillion.

That's not surprising. On a daily basis we seal contracts, purchase homes, enter marriages, and will our entire fortune to another with a stroke of the pen, confident that our "trademark" will be upheld in a court of law. Forgery experts can quickly expose a fraud.  If crooks can't even emulate your signature successfully, can the rest of your writing be any less original?

What Can Graphology Tell Me?
Because handwriting is a direct projection from the brain, it accurately reveals

  • what motivates people behind the facade they show the world

  • honesty & dishonesty

  • hidden talents and natural abilities

  • and much more

You'll discover how handwriting pressure records your sensuality, how spacing patterns expose your need for independence, how your signature is a mask you wear in public, but the body of your writing reveals how you live behind closed doors.

No More Typecasting
One reason employers find aptitude tests disappointing is because, like a mirror, they only reflect one dimension of the person. Tests may pinpoint talents and skills, but what about Passion? Temper? Leadership ability?

When used in hiring, handwriting provides one of the most accurate barometers of behavior available, as respondents can't skew answers to bias results, which often happens with psychological tests. Any attempt to alter your natural style will result in hesitation, irregular rhythm, etc. What about the issue of privacy? The courts have determined handwriting to be ?behavior in public? much like body language, and does not require a candidate's permission to analyze their script. (My clients do inform their applicants, who are often eager to learn about their natural gifts and talents.)

Who Uses It?
Couples on the brink of matrimony, parents of troubled teens, executives faced with tough business decisions, lawyers evaluating jurors, psychologists seeking clues to patients problems, teachers assisting students, and yes, those who date and conduct business on the web.

Discover Your Stroke of Genius
The genius of graphology is that whether male or female, young or old, the power, dynamism, humor, intelligence, wit, wisdom, personal quirks and idiosyncrasies shine through. Like Jimmy Stewart?s he-he-hesitant speech or John Wayne's swaggering gait, your writing is simply a record of your personal energy captured on paper.  An analysis can not only equip you with a springboard to your strengths, but allow you to forgive  your faults.

So save those boardroom doodles, faxed notes, and CEO signatures in annual reports. As for that love note, run, don't walk to a professional graphologist. You could save yourself heartache, financial ruin or both.

Today, the more we connect electronically, the less we connect physically, and something precious becomes lost in the process. Cyberchat will never replace a love letter. Ink on paper whispers ?In this moment, my focus and energy are on you alone.? Whether bold, dynamic, playful, or timid, handwriting shares the messenger along with the message. It's a tangible connection that won't disappear in the blip of a computer screen.  The web is great for surfing, but when it comes to contracts or true commitment, choose the connection that lasts though the ages -- get it in writing.
